Fireflies Twinkling..Original Firefly Painting Artwork by Jadee Slayton
Posted on August 4th, 2010 12 commentsOriginal Artwork by the Artist, Jadee Slayton. Whimsical and Fun..get swept away in all those places you’ve long forgotten. God Bless everyone, I lOVE yOU! In Jesus’ name, Amen. My work is a dedication to Jesus Christ
Painting with Jadee…. “Fireflies Twinkling” 16″ x 20″ x 3/4″ Canvas with a black acrylic base coat. After covering a used canvas with black acrylic paint. I recycled an old painting and created something new. I used a variety of colors in Acrylic Paints. I favored the Impasto application technique to apply the paints loosely with my fingers. Progressing to the final image by layering the colors for depth and interest. A free and open stroke left the finished work with an abstract appeal and an impressionistic nature. The subject matter of fireflies and the naive use of color and lines give it a folk quality. You can purchase my original artwork via the links below. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy what you see. Make yourself at home and come back often. Abstract Impressionism with a Folk Quality. Vibrant colors with a touch of whimsy. I've been denying the artist inside me for too long. It seems to be that no mater what I do in life, things always bring me back to my Art. I love it, I enjoy it, it defines me. At the moment I'm just following my dreams, doing what I love...
Painting has always been a long time hobby of mine, but over the past couple of years it has been something I've found myself doing more and more and I've given a lot of my work away without documenting it, so a lot of it is lost in the sands of time... With the site I'm hoping to get a lot more exposure and feedback on my work which will help me to grow and develop further as an artist. All comments and critiques are welcome!
